Scum Pipe Skimmer

Industrial Manually Adjustable C-Pipe Oil Skimmers

At SkimOIL we have every technology known to man for getting oil off of or out of water. It’s what we do. We Love Oil! Rotary Pipe Automatic Oil Skimmers set the standard for industrial strength oil skimming years ago. And these Rotating C-Pipe Oil Skimmers are used in many API separators , steel mills and refineries. The Rotating Pipe Skimmers have an open part of the pipe that is turned up/and or above the water level when skimming is not needed, then that C-shaped pipe is rotated down to water/oil level when skimming is desired. They work well as long as the water levels don’t change much. But unlike most of our oil skimmers, these are built in and are part of the pit, tank, separator. These are actually a construction project and are almost part of the structure. However, many of these Rotating Pipe Oil Skimmers are dead in the water and inoperable or frozen in place or the plant does not have the manpower to go and operate (turning the pipe) to use these oil skimmers or the drive is broken. Such a shame because in addition to skimming, when operated correctly, these are usually a skimmed oil delivery system designed to gravity drain the skimmed oil to a tank or pumping station without the need for pumps.

But WAIT, here’s a twist on this type system that can work for lots of applications. We can build a whole retrofit system that can be retrofitted and installed as a complete assembly. Complete with the worm gear turning mechanism or even as an electric motor for turning the open pipe down to water level so it can be used again. This could even be plumbed into the original gravity drain system or we can put an oil collector box on it complete with a pumpout system. This can be furnished as a complete system that could be retrofit/installed and operating in VERY LITTLE time, like before lunch.
YES, this could be the HOLY Grail for fixing/repairing/replacing the original DEAD rotary pipe systems. And you can be running again a deadly efficient but simple surface skimmer, automated with high quality turning mechanisms.

YEP SkimOIL has provided large scale solutions for pit and sump oil removal for metal foundries and oil refineries, as well as industrial facilities and consumer product manufacturers. We have the ability to custom design and manufacture our patented Rotating C-Pipe Oil Skimmers as short as 14″ and as long as 30′ gives our clients a unique solution for a cost much less then traditional above ground (or below ground) OWS systems. Additional features like heated troughs and adjustable height controls make the Skimoil Rotary Drum/Pipe Automatic Oil Skimmer a proven answer for both new installation and retrofit of existing API basins. Often used in the steel, glass, and petroleum industries. See the pictures below of these old dead systems in place, but with a new floating rotary drum skimmer in front of it. These old built in systems can be made functional again or easily replace-and you won’t even need to use the floating drum skimmer which requires a pumpout system, hmmmmmmmmmmm? How about a built in rotating drum skimmer that could be even better. We can give you that too. YIKES this is starting to look like progress! You could get rid of all that junk in the water and install a whole new drop in assembly that could be highly automated and reliable. See the 3rd picture , that’s a whole assembly to get oil out of water, reliably and without operator involvement.
