Replacement Drums
The true beauty of both the Drug Terminator and the WiseASH cyclonic burner / incinerators is the design using a standard open topped 55 gallon drum , as the burn chamber allowing the temperatures needed for VERY EFFICIENT incineration. The drums are pretty much standard across the world. You can buy them new, refurbished or even in stainless steel which will last a bunch longer
We have the WiseASH working on over 100 workboats…..where they burn away everything incinerable, daily for a crew of 10. They get about 2 months before they need to replace the drum…..and that’s with doing 2 or 3 loads a day. These boats have access to lots of replacement drums….simply because they use them regularly on workboats and at the shore facilities they frequent.
These incinerators are VERY efficient because they generate very high temperatures which allows them to burn cleanly and smoke free. Figure you’ll burn away about 50 lbs. of incinerables per hour, depending on moisture content.
The high temps also burn away a little bit of the drum every time you use it at temps sometimes over 1100 degrees. If you use the incinerators you will burn away your drums over time…and need to replace them.
People that burn a lot…often use refurbished drums which have a brand new coats of paint on them. First time you use it…..the paint will burn off. It’s not pretty….but they are readily available on the used market in most mid to large cities.
Now if you want a stainless steel drum….that’s different. Our standard #304 stainless steel open topped drums is going to last a LOT longer than the mild steel refurbished drums you could use.
How much longer…? Dunno’ for sure….no waay to accurately measure that, but they will last a LOT longer….and be a bit prettier .
