Consider most 1” AOD pumps can pass 1/8” to 1/4” solids….which means they cannot even pass an earplug or cig butt. Almost all Oil skimming projects have some kind of solids or junk that somehow ends up in the oil.
Our many sizes of oil skimmers can handle most of the solids they encounter, having outlets all the way to 8”. The weak link for most of these skimmer projects is usually the pump…….getting jammed up with simple solids that somehow seem to be everywhere when you have oil that needs skimming.
Standard SkimHAWG pumps come in cast aluminum with Buna seals, but we can make these same pumps in cast iron or stainless steel…..but these do take longer and cost more as they are usually built to order. The standard SkimHAWG pumps in alum/buna….we usually keep 1” and 2” on the shelf…right alongside the skimmers and suction/discharge hose kits.
The SkimHAWG pumps have a 180 degree inlet/outlet connection rotation so you can configure it the way you need…..and the air side of the pumps can be serviced without having to even get into the wet (diaphragm) side of the pump. These pumps operate LUBE FREE. Got Oil? Got solids in the oil?
